Rezumat:  The primary mission of the Church (we could also call it the oldest global institute of the history) is to proclaim God, and be the witness of Him in front of the world. However beside fulfilling the primary mission it cannot forget the social status of people. Especially in the current globalised word has gain a bigger importance the universal characteristic. The Church should contribute to the social and cultural development of the different regions by its open attitude to all people and by its mission. The Catholic Church in Transsylvania played a great role in this especially in the Middle Ages. The Transsylvanian Roman Catholic Church has been organised about one thousand years ago, and became a part of the Latin Western-Europe, where – at those time – a new world was about to born. Through the co-operation of the Church and the leaders of the states the new institutional system has started to develop, which connected and made Europe to work. The Catholic Church in Transsylvania had the same catalytic role: it developed the society and educated people. It was an important part of the chain to West. The officials of the church hierarchy tried to introduce those European norms and institutes, which were at that time European but also universal ones.
